Metabolic Network Governing Energy Supply and Carbon Sources in Plasmodium falciparum

The project aims a model-driven research, based on the reconstruction, modeling and computational analysis of the metabolic network of P. falciparum. The model will guide my experimental work through computational simulations of the experimentally reproducible perturbations (e.g. gene knock-outs) and predictions of their plausible outcomes. The most promising computational predictions will be verified experimentally. Furthermore, the model will be used as a context for interpreting large-scale metabolomic and gene-expression datasets.
