The results of the 11th and 12th calls for proposals are out. The Scientific Executive Board (SEB) of SystemsX.ch and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) expert group have approved a total of 27 new research projects in the field of systems biology. The projects will be funded with a total of over CHF 5 million.

SystemsX.ch is once more organizing a postdoc workshop in leadership and management skills. It will take place from February 17-18, 2016 in Gerzensee. As in 2015, the workshop will be run by hfp consulting and focus on topics such as key communication skills, dealing with conflict, or setting goals and priorities. Postdocs within the SystemsX.ch network are invited to participate in this course that will complement their present scientific work and be of great use in their future careers.

The SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and SystemsX.ch are jointly organizing an autumn school. Young researchers will be educated in cutting-edge methodologies relevant to systems biology and bioinformatics. Over the one-week course, participants will learn how to model and simulate metabolic networks, gene regulatory networks and population/genomics models. The course will take place in Schwarzenberg, Switzerland, from November 8-12, 2015. Registration is still open.
