18th EMBL PhD Symposium: Life by Numbers - Heidelberg, Germany

Current research in biology demands an increasingly quantitative focus where systems-wide approaches and theoretical modeling play a central role. Modern techniques allow the collection of vast amounts of data, and yet deducing the underlying mechanisms and rules from this data remains challenging. The aim of the conference is to highlight recent advances and applications of quantitative research. The conference will take place from November 17-19, 2016 at the EMBL in Heidelberg, Germany.

Machine Learning Course - Zurich, Switzerland

Do you have more data than you know what to do with? Would you like to learn how to find interesting patterns in it, without the need to program extensively? Machine learning is a useful tool for finding such patterns in your data.

The course “Machine learning for bioinformatics and computational biology” is jointly organized from November 21 to 25, 2016 by the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, SystemsX.ch and the Next Generation Sequencing Discussion Group at the University of Zurich.
