Zum Hinschied von Peter Malama
Unser BoD-Mitglied Peter Malama verstarb in der Nacht auf Samstag, 22. September 2012, im Alter von 51 Jahren nach langem Krebsleiden. Er vertrat als Präsident des Schweizerischen Instituts für Bioinfomatik das SIB im SystemsX.ch Board of Directors. Zudem stellte er als Nationalrat gleichzeitig die Verbindung zum eidgenössischen Parlament sicher.
Wir werden Peter Malama stets in guter Erinnerung behalten und drücken seinen Angehörigen unser tief empfundenes Beileid aus.

An interdisciplinary effort at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI) addressed the question of how mRNA content, which is translated into proteins, is regulated in the cell. Supported by SystemsX.ch, the Swiss Initiative in Systems Biology, experimental biologists and computer scientists teamed up to contrast epigenomic data of histone modifications with post-transcriptional read-outs.détails »
40 new project proposals submitted
SystemsX.ch issued its 6th call for proposal in March 2012. Up until August 26 the Swiss life science community was invited to apply for two different types of projects. One, for a new generation of the already established «Research, Technology and Development Projects» (RTD) and the other for the new project type «Transfer Projects». Many interesting proposals arrived for both kinds of proposals. détails »
